Nice to see something a little different. The twin engine drag cars of days gone by were always eye catchers and the engineering to make it all work was interesting to say the least. With the touring car body and twin engines I must say that you have something unique and best of all it’s all MOPAR.

    get it running

It would be nice if you could tie the engines togeather, valve covers that spanned the open space would bring them togeather more for the eye. An extra set of covers might be employed to fill the gap, maybe some sheetmetal betweent he engines, just daydreaming. That coupling is intresting, makes me wonder about frame flex when you have 720 cubes of torque. What a rod , hope it works out and you have a ball.

awesome man… congrats did u repaint the engines? or what? cuz they look better than they did in the orriginal clip

  6. heatherrose2006 Says:

“They” have been chaining them together like that for decades =)

  7. RIPSNZ Says:

Double not much shouldn’t be a problem.

Interesting to see how the coupler works out.

Even if it’s not done please, please add another vid I’m feverishly waiting, this is such a SWEET project I can’t wait to see it drive. And maybe do a burnout!!!

  9. BarrybritpopfreekS Says:

So how are you dealing with the dubble torque?

  10. VolvoWagon77 Says:

Your 720 inch V16 King of the Road is a mighty piece of engineering.Chassis design quite interesting but simple considering the problems its length must present.look forward toseeing more.

I’ve been moving frustrating slow. Lifes had a few extra wrinkles over the laast six months. I’m currently building the exhaust but since I have to build two sets fo headers it’s taking quite a while.

  12. LeviMan2001 Says:

Grr, hurry up on this thing I want to see it!

cool project, and posted on my bday

Great challenge you’ve given yourself here. Once the engines are mechanically synchronized at the crank and cams are degreed the same, you should be able to fire them off only one distributor. Just double up the plug wires, then both engines will fire at exactly the same time, without distributor advance curves figuring into the mix. If all else fails, talk to a tractor puller. They do multi-eng. all the time.

Hey! Stop playing these damned old songs that I sing along to! It’s embarrassing. :-o
    Ha ha!

It’s a very impressive project. Are you sure about keeping a stock fuel tank?
LOL! She’ll run dry before the back axle joins the main road!! X-D

    Anyway, 5 stars.

great work mate good to see someone thinking outside the sqare cheers (-:

  17. davemac39 Says:

Im not sure how its been done before(joining two motors) but what about rubber couplers to dampen the conection,or is it a balance and timing issue

  18. wantsacobra Says:

yea that is waycool cant wait to see it on road

  19. bombyamomma Says:

hey, that thing is sick. I cant wait for you to post a video of it rolling!
Just a stab at new knowledge here, but how the heck did you mount the rear of the front crank up to the balancer on the rear crank?
Another question; how do you plan on synchronizing the timing for the the distributors?
At any rate that is awesome. Are you gonna fancy it up or just rat it out like a manly man? (ha ha) whatever you do, good luck!

  20. dshock47 Says:

great project man, cant wait to see it running!

I hadn’t considered the body over engine idea. That’s a great idea. If the body I found wasn’t in the great condition that it is in I’d consider it. I found this body in the rafters of a barn. It’s estimated to have been the over 40 years and is in very good shape for a 90 year old piece of metal. I’ve avoided cutting or modifying the body as much as possible.

  22. HotRodAlley Says:

kool project good luck with it, did you ever consider mounting the body up over the rear engine and using the back seat as the front (making it a 2 seater)so it didnt look so long? either way its sick! good luck……

  23. No1Beaver Says:

The engines, flywheel/clutch, balancers, and connecting hardware has not been balanced yet. I’ll get them set and test started a few times prior to tearing it all down and balancing everything all together.

  24. OSCALETRAINGUY Says:

    ok..lets talk harmonics here?
how are you going to deal with it???
my guess unless you do something funky
you be poppin main bearings in very
    short order..YES? even worse..shear
    a crank…NIce lookin job!

  25. 808moparskate Says:

oh ok have fun with that awesome dodge
