Lee Iacocca’s Rock Concert
A slightly more obscure “SCTV” clip. Lee A. Iococca was the head of Chrysler when this clip aired. He sought and was given a loan guarantee for Chrysler by the United States government, and played a pivotal role in Chrysler’s TV ads. “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert” was a weekly TV show for popular music acts of the day. Put the two together and you get “Lee A. Iococca’s Rock Concert!” This clip was a special request from ConnDevi88, who wanted to see Rick Moranis doing his Ringo impression! …

This is the version that was originally recut for the NBC Network 90 series. The original version of this sketch is from the third season (CBC) and also features Robin Duke as Imogene Iacooca and Tony Rosato as Tony Orlando who performs “Tie a Yellow Ribbon ‘Round an Doge Omni” with Lee.

ok. it was on youtube at one time a few months back. That one and the part of Iococca’s concert where Moranis does George Carlin performing stand up where he does bits about Beets among a couple of others, and also one where Eugene plays a host of a blooper show as well were on here and i’d like to see them again.

Paulgr, I’ve been looking through what I have to see if the “Death of a Salesman” piece is among them. So far, no luck. I’ll keep looking, though.

Factoid: Lee Iacocca’s middle name is “Anthony.” YouTube – not just a source of entertainment; it’s a place to learn.

I love that it’s Lee “A.” Iacocca’s Rock Concert. And I adore anything with Joe Flaherty as Slim Whitman.
