Do the American people care about their country ? I mean you seem to be quite reasonable, you seem to be a rarity amongst the population. I’m going to miss the states I tell ya, who’s going to buy made in china Harley’s, its absolute insanity.
Oh I agree, we owe a lot of money to China… who’s to say they won’t demand that it be paid? Should we let the government force a debt upon all of us? They just might want one kidney from every taxpayer in the country… lol seriously though I agree 100%.
Even if I had to pay a little more to buy made in the USA
cars, clothing, appliances etc….I would feel better knowing that at least the stuff is being made by free people. Look at the chinese government they put lead paint on the toys, and they’re doing organ harvesting from their citizens. Who wants to support bizzaro country. What are American citizens suppose to do with their lives volunteer for organ harvesting ?
Yep, and people wonder why our economy is dwindling… If we stopped being an Imperial establishment, we could probably get out of debt in a matter of 5-10 years.
Do this:
when watching Obama speak, cover his mouth,- on the screen and just WATCH HIS EYES with and open mind and listen to your intuition,….your streetsmarts,..do this experiment.
When watching him on the news anywhere YOU WILL SEE WHO HE REALLY IS ,…like anyone one else,……
You already know the eyes don’t lie ,….you know this.
TRY IT.
I supported Obama in the election (and continue to support his policies) but I would glady volunteer my time to challenge him on this particular issue in a court of law. The purposed treatment of minority investors has no legal basis.
Obama takes over GM-Anyone remember the last AUTO a government had anything to do with??? Answer, THE YUGO We all remember the SUCCESS that venture was Favorite joke at the time Do you know why the YUGO comes standard with REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER??? So your hands wont freeze when you push it
It’s becoming clear that President Obama, or members of his administration, far exceeded the constitutional limits of his executive powers, by using coercive tactics to force bond-holders to accept vastly diminished returns, while granting UAW workers billions of dollars in subsidies. If this proves true, it will be one of the worst abuse of power ever against private citizens, or businesses.
We are talking about frightening stuff! The President acting as dictator! We all should be alarmed!!!
Fried, most people aren’t that upset that Obama is pissing away billions of taxpayer dollars. As you illustrated, Republican Presidents have done exactly the same thing. So, even though it’s inexcusable, it’s also not uncommon.
However, I object to how it’s being used, and for what. You may have been opposed to the Iraq war, but conducting war IS the CONSTITUTIONALLY PROPER role for the President of the United States, as Commander in Chief. Not negotiating mergers that save union jobs!
Okay all you people wanna talk about wasting billions of tax dollars? The money invested in Crysler was given in a good faith effort to help the company survive. What happened to the 9 billion dollars in cash that disappeared in Iraq during the Bush Admin.? Did you people stand up and question that? No? I didn’t think so!
The administration has no right to rewrite contract law and decide winners and losers. Google WJR and Beckman interview with Tom Lauria. Govt. made threats to his client to use WH press to smear him.
Pres O throw blame on investment groups. The fact is he was pushing them to accept 20 cents on a dollar. Weiberg and Perella were trying to protect their investers which included teacher funds, pension funds, and endowments. The White House threaten to bring the full force of the press corp on the holdouts. Weinberg partners gave in but the OppenheimerFunds are standing strong. We have a Pres that will extort and bully its ’subjects’ to get its way. That is not the American way.
Ok, the Obama team failed in saving this company. Even using strong arm tactics on crediters Obama failed. Even after billions of dollars pumped in Obama failed though he wants to blame everyone else. This is an example of things to come. The idea that this govt, who cant save a car company, is going to run the countrys health care–ah hell no.
The whole job of hedge funds, shorts and puts is to keep bad companies stock in check and help keep managment honest. If we take out that aspect then all we have are long positions. That is a set up for a real collapse. Keep it real Obama.

Those of you who think Obama is “pissing away millions” are morons who don’t understand macroeconomics.

their so called “sacrifice” has nothing to do with tarp…
Many of the banks were forced to take tarp and still are not allowed to pay it back…
April 9th, 2010 at 7:03 pm
in any normal bankruptcy the senior debt holders are paid out first and then if there is anything left then the junior debt holders get paid.
April 9th, 2010 at 7:12 pm
No it is not…
and for your information Perella Weinberg Partners LP, was originally against the deal but changed its mind at the last minute.

April 9th, 2010 at 7:31 pm
I think it’s hilarious that Obama says that JP Morgan made a “sacrifice” here, when everyone knows they accpted TARP money. What “sacrifice??”
